In 2006, a tier one
Investment Bank needed to identify and hire two individuals at
Director level to help launch a pilot business transformation programme
for its European Investment Banking Operations business. Candidates
needed to demonstrate extensive BPR programme delivery experience
as well as the gravitas to manage MD level stakeholder relationships.
Morpheus Search received a detailed brief from the hiring manager,
a Managing Director with overall responsibility for delivering
this business transformation initiative for the bank.
After the
initial briefing meeting we designed a search plan and briefing
document which we agreed with the client. We advised the client
to not only focus on its direct competitor base but also broaden
the search to include the major Consultancies and Global financial
businesses with world class reputations for process excellence.
We agreed that the Consultancies would give us access to bright
individuals who had programme lead large scale transformation initiatives
across several industry sectors, utilising a best practice methodology
(six sigma or equivalent). Similarly, we agreed that world class
global corporations would yield great candidates, and they
did.
The client asked us to proceed rapidly, so we prioritised
this search and after only 2 weeks we presented a long list of
7 candidates. After a series of interviews we further reduced this
list to 2 very strong candidates. Offers were extended and accepted
and the search was completed (contracts signed) less than 8 weeks
after commencement. This slick end to end recruitment process ensured
quick decision making and impressed the candidates.
Our experience
and knowledge of the BPR marketplace enabled us to access the market
space quickly and effectively. The client subsequently retained
us to search for a Business Transformation Leader for its North
American Business, a search we have just completed. |
