We successfully delivered
two Master Black Belts for this major Bank in London and in Dublin.
Impressed by the speed with which we were able to complete these
searches, the bank outlined a hiring problem they had and challenged
us to solve it.
The Bank had been struggling for the past 6 months
to hire a Master Black Belt for their Asian business, based in
Hong Kong. The bank had engaged with local suppliers and interviewed
over 30 candidates, none of whom had proved suitable. This was
proving costly on two levels. Firstly the hiring manager was wasting
his valuable time meeting inappropriate candidates. Secondly a
large pipeline of project opportunities was accumulating with no
resource in theatre to oversee their delivery.
We advised the Bank
to not only focus on the local Hong Kong market, which they had
already saturated, but to instead target expatriates working in
the US and Europe who had a personal desire to relocate back to
Hong Kong. We were certain that the Banks strong Global brand and
well established local presence in Hong Kong would be very attractive
to potential targets in these regions and were confident that this
would give them immediate access to a much larger pool of talent,
which it did.
The Bank agreed and instructed us to proceed rapidly.
We were able to quickly access the international market by carefully
targeting members of our extensive expatriate network who we knew
would be receptive to this type of opportunity.
After only 1 week
we were able to introduce the Bank to several suitable candidates
based in both Europe and the US.
After a series of video interviews
we reduced the shortlist to 1 very strong candidate, based in Switzerland,
who we flew to Hong Kong to meet with the senior management team.
The search was completed (contracts signed) in less than 3 weeks,
end to end. Our strong, international candidate network, allowed
us to precisely and quickly access the best candidates in the wider
marketplace, thus solving our clients hiring
need.
